After a slow start Saturday morning against Neptune, the Sting rebounded in the afternoon with a convincing 3-0 win against a solid squad from Ridgewood's Maroon Soccer Club.  Second-half goals by Jake Connellan and Luke Grasso and solid defense sealed the win and set up the team for a "must-win" game on Sunday morning against a tough team from Rancocas Valley to advance to the final.

A strong effort Sunday morning resulted in a dominant 5 to 1 win over Rancocas Valley sending the Sting, who is trained by Coach Turtle, to the final against a very skilled and talented regional team from Toms River.  A first-half goal by Johnny Volpe off an indirect kick put the Sting up at half.  A cross by Volpe and one-time finish by Matt Tracy in the second half proved to be the game winner as the Sting went on in exciting fashion to take the championship 2 to 1.  Outstanding goal keeping by Eric Wnorowski, rock-solid defense and an overall dominant performance by the boys ended with a championship in the team's first tournament.

Congratulations Sting and thank you Coach Turtle!
